Today I looked through my working directory and found this HDR I did some month ago. I have a bunch of nearly finished pictures because I always have the feeling that something is missing :).
Anyway as I spotted this processed picture of Akihabara I thought: "Wow it looks like a scene of Blade Runner" (amazing movie by the way). I was toying with the Retinex-Filter of Gimp to get some texture on the walls. But with the texture there comes noise. And noise-reduction kills the texture. A vicious circle. At some point I accepted the noise and trimmed all to this dirty mood.
That's how it works. Making a HDR is always surprising as you never really know whats coming out in the end. (at least I never know :D)

Red, red, red...
I took this picture at the Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine near Kyoto. It is the one with the 1000 gates. I didn't count them but i'm sure we walked through more then 500 of them.
3exp. handheld HDR and some gimp love...

"Neues Rathaus - Wahrzeichen und eines der begehrtesten Fotomotive von Hannover"
"The New Town Hall - landmark and one of the most photograph object of Hanover"
Finally I found some time to take pictures of it.
This is a HDR out of 11 exposures.... don't ask! I wanted to try it! Actually there is no difference to 9, 7 or 5 exposures, maybe to 3. Also you should have more than 4gb RAM.... otherwise you spend some time waiting for the result, believe me! :D

Today the first A380 from Lufthansa did an airport test landing at Hannover. I was too late for the actual landing and because I wanted to switch position to the end of the runway I also missed the start. :( Stupid me.
Never mind I got some nice shots of this beast.
